Written as rememberances, Art Rozell brings to life a world nearly forgotten today. These life stories will eventually be three volumes.

 

The first volume, Horses and Hijinx, covers his earliest memory at about age three in 1930 through the onset of World War II, when he was in junior high. They include tales of his family, the many horses he owned, unusual visitors to their small ranch in Harbor City, California, and even an encounter with Aimee Semple McPherson, all played out over a very active childhood.

 

The second volume, Renegades and Romances, picks up where volume one leaves off and takes Art through his days at Narbonne High School, the military at the end of WWII, and his college days at Compton Junior College and Occidental College, ending with his marriage. These stories include a surprising fifteenth birthday present, encounters with a drill seargent, and some surprising events in college that gave him a broader education than he expected.
